Lapin Records
Lapin Records is an international piano school providing authentic music instruction by a highly educated and versatile pianist who has studied in both New York and Tokyo.
Located in a quiet residential area in Urasoe City, 7 minutes from Camp Kinser gate 2, it offers courses in various levels and genres, from classical to pop, for those who are pursuing careers in professional music, as well as for those who want to learn piano as a hobby. We adapt to each students’ level and needs.
Using two grand pianos in lessons would help students develop rich sensitivity and good ears in this optimal environment.

Instructor
Megumi Miyazato
・Professional pianist
・Classically trained, have been playing classical, pop, soul, funk, musical/theatre, chanson, lounge music and more
・Obtained a Bachelor of Music from the Piano Department of Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo, and a Master’s degree in Music from Mannes College of Music – The New School in NY
・Current part-time lecturer in Music Education at Okinawa Women’s Junior College, former part-time lecturer in Piano Department at The Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts
・Years of teaching experience in English at Sunny Music School in NY, Teachers’ Choice in NY, Greenwich Music School in NY and Camp Foster Music School (Marine Corp Base) in Okinawa Japan.
・Competition judge (Burgmuller Competition, Okinawa Piano Competition, etc.)
・Grader for the qualification exam of nursery teachers

Eligibility
・There are no age requirements, but all applicants must be old enough to sit up straight, not to play around, to listen to an instructor, and to understand/read numbers and alphabets.
・It’s impossible for us to have students with disabilities since the studio building is not designed for those persons.
・Piano lessons in English are intended for people whose first languages are not Japanese. The people whose first language is Japanese will take piano lessons in Japanese.
Courses & Fees
Prep course
☑️30 minutes a week
$30 per lesson
Intermediate course ~Best for kids who can read music and all adults~
☑️40 minutes a week
$40 per lesson
☑️50 minutes a week
$50 per lesson
Advanced course
☑️60 minutes a week
$60 per lesson
・You can choose a course based on duration (from 30 minutes to 60 minutes.) We usually suggest 30-min lessons for the very beginners, and 40-min or longer time for adults and the students whose levels are Intermediate or higher.
・Basically, the lesson day and time are fixed, and it is suggested you take lessons every week constantly for your progress.
Information
・The lessons are held in Urasoe city, near Camp Kinser.
・We don’t charge registration fee.
・The cost of text books is not included in the lesson fee.
・We don’t offer online lessons in English.
・Don’t hesitate to miss a class when you are sick. And also, please wear a mask when you have a cough. Since the lesson studio is a closed place and the students use the same piano, that would be greatly appreciated if you cooperate to reduce the risk of infection.
・There is no waiting space or playroom.
